Shanghai Excursion (Oct 2, 2016)

Five of my Tufts friends and I spontaneously decided to go to Shanghai for a couple days! It's National Week here in China, so there are red flags everywhere.

The pearl tower, lit up and very cool at night

Of course we had to try the famous Shanghai soup dumplings. We tried to go to Din Tai Fung, but sadly it had closed by the time we got there (we had a late dinner at 9 pm), so we went to another place called Crystal Jade. The dumplings were super yummy!

It rained really hard last night, and everyone was left competing to find taxis at a very busy intersection. Some people didn't have umbrellas, so they put plastic bags on their heads- I thought it was funny.

We stayed in an Air Bnb that actually was supposed to fit 13 people. It ended up being the 6 of us plus a group of 8 people from Mexico, so a couple of us slept out in the living room in tents (to prevent mosquitoes from coming in). They weren't the absolute most comfortable, but the lady running the place was very nice! Overall a good experience. :)
